Expressing the invisible… if there were one phrase to describe this project, it would certainly be this one.
TAG, Transporte de Gás, gave us a lot of freedom in designing the project. We embraced this challenge with such care that every element speaks to and shows the path of the essence the company stands for.
We needed to highlight the brand's turquoise blue, and we found that element in the exposed air conditioning and spiral ductwork. From the reception onward, it guides us through the entire company, and with it we sense the path of underground gas pipelines.
Tag, a solid and serious company, asked us to use sustainable and austere elements. Feijó wood is also part of the project's composition, both in the slatted ceiling and in the open executive area, delimited only by curved elements that we nicknamed “ribs”.
The movement of the earth that we imagined as the gas pipelines pass through was represented by installing vinyl flooring in two colors, creating an offset herringbone pattern that greets us at reception and continues into the office.
In the meeting rooms we saw the possibility of the earth rising up. We expressed this feeling with brown screen-printed glass blocks suspended by freijó wood brackets raised off the floor.
Plenty of biophilia in the office and the company's colors applied at points throughout, spreading life.
A shared lounge and dining area was needed that would also be the main spot for company events. So the break area is wrapped by a curved, retractable glass partition, and this is where another space within the company emerges. Rio de Janeiro is printed on a monolithic floor that recreates Burle Marx's curves, with graffiti and plenty of movement and fun in the furniture and lighting.
The staff desks, grouped by department and not necessarily following a rigid direction, define the work areas. Their reproduction in the cloud-shaped ceiling lights each employee independently.
For this concept we had not only a very rich source of brand elements and an extremely open and receptive client, but also the best that Rio has to offer, since the 360º view from the Ventura building is unique!
